Blessing
Diagnosed with Triple-Positive Breast Cancer, at age 41 ½, her very first mammogram was at age 40. Due to the type of breast cancer she was diagnosed with, she was advised to have her breast removed in which afterwards she would undergo radioactive chemo treatments.
Today, Blessing is trying to live with the changes in her body after having had her breast removed, she has a very strong support system that is helping her to keep a positive mindset. She says, “losing her breast isn’t easy to cope with and it wasn’t what she wanted to do but, it was the choice that she had to make for her future.”
She is thankful for the support that she’s received P.I.M.P.C.
Chastity
Chastity’s journey with Breast Cancer started in November 2022. Things escalated very quickly. She started with Chemo to kill the cancer cells as she was diagnosed with cancer in both of her breasts. After months of chemo, the decision was made to do a double mastectomy which took place on June 12, 2023. Along with the cancer came a few other challenges. Chastity also is dealing with a severe intestinal infection and fistulas. Also due to her health challenges, she has not been able to work or keep steady housing. She is in the process of applying for disability and other assistance to help ease these roadblocks.
Despite Chastity’s journey, she is trying to stay positive and work to improve her health for the future. As Chastity’s Aunt, I have been there to help her with care and transportation to appointments. Chastity has a long journey ahead of her, but we are hoping and praying for a bright future. This year at our annual JAM FEST, P.I.M.P.C. awarded Chastity with our first PINK POWER SURVIVOR AWARD.
